Hello again everyone, and welcome to our newest consignors. I am sending this to workers too so they will know what to look for. A good question has come up and I wanted to share the result with all of you. I realize that many of you may have already passed this stage of tagging that I am going to talk about, but being the first time we have used this new process, it's hard to anticipate all those details ahead of time.
A question came up asking if it is okay to adhere just the barcode label to books without an index card. The barcode does have your seller number and the price on it. Here is what we are going to do:
* You may put the barcode directly onto books, CDs, videos, and boxed items such as puzzles and games that have a flat surface, ONLY if you plan to donate those items if they do not sell. The barcode alone will be considered a white tag.
* Any books, CDs, videos, and boxed items you wish to reclaim if unsold, must have a colored index card as your tag with the barcode stuck to it. A stand-alone barcode without an index card will be considered a white-tagged item, and will be donated if unsold.
* The barcode MUST lay flat and be secure. We cannot scan rippled or curved barcode labels. Do not try to stick a barcode directly to anything that is not flat, as we will not be able to sell it. Please only use on the items listed above.
* Do not put any tape, clear or otherwise, over the barcode.
All other items must be tagged following the tagging guidelines (3 x 5 colored or white index card).
Another request. Please try to price your books individually. The new labeling policy for books should make this a fairly easy tagging process. If you do group books together, try to do it with books that belong to a set and in small bunches (not 25 Magic Treehouse books in one pack, for example) If all titles cannot be seen (if they are rubber-banded together for example) please list all of the titles on an index card in the description area of the card so the shopper will know what titles they are getting.
Any questions please ask. Many thanks,
Molly
